Infineon Technologies Austria AG (IFAT) is a 100% subsidiary of the worldwide operating semiconductor company Infineon Technologies AG and was founded in April 1999. With more than 4.000 employees, IFAT combines R&D, production and global business responsibilities. IFAT develops and manufactures semiconductor- and system solutions for all Infineon business areas. In Austria, about 1,977 of 4,609 (09/2019) employees are working in the field of Research and Development. Hence, IFAT has the largest R&D unit for microelectronics in Austria. Infineon designs, develops, manufactures, and markets a broad range of semiconductors and system solutions. The focus of its activities is on automotive electronics, industrial electronics, communication and information technologies, and hardware-based security. The product range comprises standard components, customer-specific solutions for devices and systems, as well as specific components for digital, analogue, and mixed-signal applications. Infineon generates 30 percent of its revenue in Europe, 57 percent in Asia and 13 percent in the Americas. Infineon organizes its operations in four segments: Automotive, Industrial Power Control, Power & Sensor Systems, and Digital Security Solutions. Infineon Austria will be involved with three dedicated tasks.
